classes, camps & events at birdhouse are packed with fun!
general policies
registration + enrolment
all participants must complete a registration form before attending any classes or workshops.
enrolment is on a first-come, first-served basis, and class sizes are limited to ensure individual attention.
age + eligibility
classes, workshops and events are designed for specific age groups. please enroll your child in the appropriate class based on their age and skill level.
health and safety
safety is our top priority.
parents/guardians must inform the Birdhouse Creative Studio of any allergies, medical conditions, or special needs of their child.
in case of illness, please refrain from bringing your child to the studio to prevent the spread of germs.
no running! running in the studio is dangerous for both your child and others around them so your child agrees not to run when participating in the birdhouse creative studio programs.
drop-off + pick-up
parents/guardians are responsible for dropping off and picking up their child on time. please inform the studio if someone other than the designated person will be picking up your child.
behaviour + conduct
all participants are expected to treat others with respect and kindness.
disruptive or harmful behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the child being asked to leave the class.
dress code - we like to get messy!
participants are encouraged to wear clothes suitable for art activities. while aprons will be provided, accidents can happen. dress for a mess!
parental involvement
parents/guardians are welcome to observe sessions but are encouraged to let the child lead the creative process. unless otherwise instructed or if the class is listed as *drop off only. some classes do require parent participation.
feedback + encouragement
instructors will provide positive feedback and constructive encouragement to support each child's artistic journey.
inclusive environment
the birdhouse creative studio welcomes children of all abilities and backgrounds. instructors will make necessary accommodations to support each child's participation.
photography + media release
the birdhouse creative studio may take photographs or videos during classes for promotional purposes. we are the sole owner of any “media” and may use the media in any way, in our sole discretion. you grant us permission to use your child’s image without any restriction and waive your right to inspect or approve the media. a media release form will be provided during sign-up for your consent. please remind any staff on site of your wishes during your class or event.
cancellation + refund policy
a notice of cancellation must be provided within a specified time frame to be eligible for a refund or credit towards future classes.
inclement weather + holidays
in the event of inclement weather or holidays, the birdhouse creative studio will provide information regarding class cancellations or make-up sessions.
emergency procedures
the birdhouse creative studio has established procedures for emergencies, including fire drills and evacuation plans. please familiarize yourself with these procedures.
liability + waiver
the birdhouse creative studio is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal belongings. participants and parents/guardians are required to sign a liability waiver upon registration.
code of ethics
the birdhouse creative studio upholds a high standard of professionalism and integrity. discrimination, harassment, or any form of misconduct will not be tolerated.
art supplies + materials
the birdhouse creative studio will provide necessary art supplies and materials for each class. We use a wide range of materials during our classes including, but not limited to: paint, glue, pastel, chalk, wax, glue guns, hammers, and other sharp objects. while we do our best to monitor every individual’s use of these materials, accidents may occur from time to time due to the inherent risk in using these materials. you understand that these materials are not meant for consumption and will instruct your child not to consume any materials and to always conduct themselves in a safe manner.
please do not bring personal materials unless specified.
non-competitive environment
the studio fosters a non-competitive atmosphere where each participant's unique style and expression are celebrated.
artwork storage & pickup
we will gladly store your artwork for 2 weeks only. please pick up your artwork during business hours within this 2 week time frame. once it has been 2 weeks we cannot guarantee your artwork will still be at the studio. out studio is small and so we cannot store anything for more than the a lotted time.
we know your work is important to you so if you cannot make it within those 2 weeks please let us know. our studio is very busy and artwork can pile up fast so please be sure contact us should any issues arise.

studio class policies
hummingbird and chickadee classes
age range: 6M - 18M (HUMMINGBIRD) // toddlers walking to 3 years old (CHICKADEE)
even though we encourage toddlers to explore and investigate independantly during toddler art playgroup, you must stay with your child during class to support them during their experience.
wren/ PIPER/ EGRET CLASSES
age range: 3.5 years - 5 years (WREN) // 5 - 9 years (PIPER) // 9 - 12 years (EGRET)
we want our artists to feel confident creating independently, so all wren, piper, and egret art classes in the studio are drop off only(unless otherwise stated).
drop-in art play
open to all ages but suited to younger age groups i.e. 3-6 years
even though we encourage toddlers to explore and investigate during toddler art playgroup, you must stay with your child during class to support them during their experience.
late or absent?
if you will be running late for class please let us know by phoning the studio.
If you will be late picking up your child from class please let us know by phoning the studio.
cancellation policies
Failure to attend a scheduled session without prior
notice will result in forfeiture of your registration fee.
6 week programs
we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we strive to be as accommodating as possible. however, please note that we do not offer makeups or refunds for missed classes, even if you know you will miss ahead of time. this is due to the limited capacity and high demand of Birdhouse Creative Studio classes.
transfer to another participant
you may transfer your entire registration to another individual who meets the eligibility criteria for the session. please notify us 48 hours in advance of your first session with the new participant's details. please note transfers refer to your entire 6 week booking. single class transfers are not permitted. transfers cannot be made once the session has begun.
drop-in classes
reschedule to a later date
if you need to cancel your booking, you have the option to reschedule to a future date within 48 hours before the time of your booking. please contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled session to make arrangements. please note that failure to contact the studio before the allotted time will not be refunded. if you have an extenuating circumstance, we will handle each cancellation on a case by case basis.
transfer to another participant
You may transfer your single class registration to another individual who meets the eligibility criteria for the session. Please notify us 24 hours in advance with the new participant's details.
workshops
to cancel or reschedule a workshop, please contact our studio during our operating hours or via email at least 48 hours in advance of your booking. Be sure to provide your booking details and reason for cancellation.
transfer to another participant
you may transfer your workshop registration to another individual who meets the eligibility criteria for the session. please notify us 48 hours in advance of your first session with the new participant's details. please note transfers refer to your entire 6 week booking. single class transfers are not permitted. transfers cannot be made once the session has begun.
parties
